Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

I like that... "pancaking".

That would be Bob, my blue orpington rooster. All 10 pounds of him. LOL!

I'd agree with that- my Dell girls go nuts if I don't let them out to run around the yard everyday. They will stand at the gate of their run and cry until I come let them free range. Or they'll play Harry Houdini and become escape artist chickens. Then I'll have to go round them up from the neighbor's yard.

I think it's mostly because they're spoiled rotten. During the colder winter months they didn't mind the confinement but now that the sun is shining again they aren't having it.

OMG you should have seen it. The Dellie turned her head sideways and then lunged grabbing his wattle. He screamed, pulled away, jumped up in the air and down on top of her. Then he just looked at her and screamed! It sounds like a bad cross of a T-Rex and raptor. She does not mess with him now, she loves him! hahaha I think Thor is going to push his daddy's weight of 14 lbs with ease. (Thor is the son of Speckledhen's Blue Orp, Suede) He is a lap full of sweetness though.

Where did you get your delawares?

Mine came from Janet Holtman (seriousbill) in Ohio. Her flock has been developed from Meier, McDaniel, Sandhill plus other long time Delaware breeders. She is not breeding them at the moment due to a move of residence, though.

Thor is definitely the Heir Apparent - he would keep those girls in line! Especially as he has his assistant, Miss Cheyenne of the bubble bath extraordinaire- I will threaten Mr. Roo with that if he acts up again.

Okay I got some updated pictures of the crew today. There is a reason I have so few good shots of the Dellies...this is the reason

Now I know the photo taking rules...get down on their level to get a good picture not from above HOWEVER with Delawares that does not work...at least not with Fattie biting your pants, shirt and whatever else and Cannonball jumping into your lap or on your back...what is it with these Dellie girls?

Edited to add: everyone gets their toenails trimmed tomorrow with the Pedi-Paw...Draco's toenail sliced my left palm open tonight so tomorrow the battoe with he and Sirius to trim nails is ON!

Oh Cyn sorry to hear that! Thats a terrible decison to have to make but thats some really nast behavior. I am sure if the faverolles hens wanted to they could pick on the younger boy but with this older boy he is really no nonsense. I mean if a hen looks at him wrong he is over there showing her who is boss
hmm.png
He is nice to me and understands I am boss sounds like maybe you should stick them in with someone who is really nononsense and won't accept any of their flack. Or just give up some birds are just to muhc trouble.

Henry

I've not been following too closely... Cyn, are you getting rid of the Dels?! Why? The girls pecking Isaac's comb? Maybe it is just cabin fever like all of us in this weird winter.
