rancher hicks, my eggs came from Cynthia (speckledhen), I was fortunate enough to be one of the last folks that she was able to send eggs too. Since she has separated her breeding Dells. However, there are many of us here on the Delaware thread (and some others who haven't succumbed to the Delaware thread madness...
) who have birds from Cyn's lines. It'll be quite some time before I can offer up hatching eggs but most other people's birds are now reaching POL, so you just might be able to find someone to ship you some!
Concerning the age of your birds, I too have 4 hatchery Dells that I've had for almost 2 years now, they're my best layers. I get 4 eggs from them everyday that are huge! So in this case I say, "If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it!". If your girls are laying to your expectations then that's all that matters.
Kathy, thanks. I'm gonna go look at smileys now.
joletabey, I wish I had a picture of a Dell baby this morning, but unfortunately it's still just a pip...
Another W/BW Ameraucana hatched early today though! YAY!
I'll post some pictures later, I'm going to pick up a lemon tree that I found on craigslist right now. It's a little over 5' tall and the lady is selling it to me for $40!
