Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

I did for awhile in one brooder. It did not last long though, just one batch of chicks. I don't use it anymore. Poop gets mashed into the sand, and it really needs to be hosed out, I found. That was my experience. I liked it at first, but not later. If it were outside, I would like it (and I do like sand outside).

I'm going to use it with my turkeys when they are a month old but I really like shavings in with my chicks though I use a 12x12 rubber matted stall with a hover type brooder it has stayed very dry and fluffy and the temperature swings here are extreme so I don't worry about them getting chilled.

Germaine, I am still waiting to see your pictures that you promised us!

I us a plastic 54 gallon stock tank for a brooder and then play sand from Home Depot <3 bucks for 50# Its also washed> and when the poop gets a little deep I scoop it out with a
kitty litter scoop and put in new sand. I always start with fresh sand with each batch of new
Del baby's because I have no other breeds.

In the event you did not already know this fact about Dellies....they are goofy!

Cannonball was walking by me, or so I thought, and she just threw herself down. Silly bird scared me to death but she just wanted to soak up the little sunshine that peeked through the clouds.
