Here ya go Cetawin.
You can see the plastic milk cartons that I use to make a mini green house. They have shims stapled to the sides to hold them place. Those are garlic plants I put in last November.
I''ve had to modify the gate several times as the chickens seem to find the weak points. The same with the fence. The fencing is made with small trees and blown down branches in the woods. 42" high.
You can see the cans that I pushed down over the tomato plants in the center bed . I just fill each can and the water stays on the plant. No waste and it saves time. This can be done with any plant that you decide. I also do it w/ peppers and egg plants.
This is a pic of my new section. I've used card board to cover the weeds and newspapers under the beds. I will cut the plastic bags and staple to the sides to keep the weeds from creeping up. I hope to cover the card board with hay that got wet as mulch.
You can see the green metal stakes in the background that I pounded in and will wire the cross bars of small trees just like the older section. Oh and I ran two foot chickens wire around first, then wired the posts to the green stakes then wired the cross bars and wired the stick pickets to those. I won't do it quite as elaborate as the inside garden cuz the chickens don't go out here. Yet. lol
Since this is a chickens forum here are some pics of my lavender amer's and Frenchy and her Del and lavender chick. There is also one of Frenchy's real chicks that she had w/ Eric the CM standard roo. How n when is beyond me. It's hard to see but "Buckwheat" is frizzled.
I do hope Buckwheat is a she. My DD named it. Makes me crazy cuz then they hate when they have to go.
