Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

Alice our Delaware Pullet, we had an Alice in Wonderland theme going on this spring. Any thoughts on her? We don't breed Delawares nor plan to so I'm just curious what others think of her.

I think Alice is just about as perfect as they come.

She is a lovely lady! I would love to have her in my flock!

She's lovely! She's chunky with good coloring, yellow legs and a very pretty look overall. I also have an Alice, but she is a blue Plymouth Rock, named for a color called "Alice blue", which she is. It's sort of an ice blue color. Your girl is a very nice looking Delaware.

Alice is a very lovely bird. Is she from a hatchery or is she from breeder stock?

If she is a hatchery girl I'd sure like to know what hatchery is selling birds like her!

She is actually hatchery stock. We went to the feed store to pick up feed and just had to get one of the little Delaware chicks, they were just to adorable to pass up. I believe the feed store gets its chicks from Privett Hatchery.

So do you think she is worth taking with us to the next show?

You're the 3rd person who's told me they've got their Dels from Privett and the birds have looked very nice each time.

I wonder if it's worth placing an order with Privett?

She is the only one we got so I don't know if we just happened to get luck or if they consistently have nice birds. We got a Sussex (Chess) with her but she went to live at our neighbors farm as part of their laying flock. We are really more focused on our Chanteclers and BLR Wyandottes but we just loved Alice to much to let her go. She is just to much of a joy to have in our flock, amazingly friendly.
