Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

Ndemerly- markings wise, those are nice pullets. I think the first one is the pullet Doug had at Ohio, but I would have to look at my pictures again. You want to go for a VERY round, bowl shaped underline, and a wide stance between the legs, so the bird is broad. The first hen tail is better - and you want it to be an open triangle when you look at it from behind:

The roos, of course, have barred tail feathers.

So..I've been look at the pictures on this thread and now it's finay- I want Delawares! I have two barred rock pullets right now and def. room for more (we have a 8'x10'x6' coop). Thanks for feeding into my addiction guys

Of course they won't be as beautiful as these ones since I'll be ordering hatchery Delawares (we have them for egg laying) but even the hatchery ones are still so pretty

lyongirl- there may be some breeders willing to hatch for you for a fee, if you want breeder stock. The best hatchery stock I know about is Welp or Privett- good luck!

Lyongirl,
I got mine from Welp a couple of weeks ago. Although I can't say anything about how close to standard they are I have to say they are VERY healthy, extremely curious, and seem very friendly (hop on your hand when you stick it in the coop). And they are growing like crazy and already "fly" onto the perch at 2+ weeks old.

Have 23/25 which is not to bad I suppose. I did help a couple of the last ones and if they do ok that will make 23/25. They are in the bator. Also have one that is an EE. Trish insisted it's mother would lay green eggs but I didn't think so. I have two Ee's in with Nick as they insist on being with him. Since I thought they'd both lay green eggs that would keep me from setting an EE egg by mistake. Trish will probably want it but I don't think so. Camera battery is low so I'll post more later. They didn't take long to make a mess.

Hey my bantam Brown leghorn laid an egg. Her first since the ALBC conference. I was beginning to worry, I'd won a dud. Any guesses what's going in the incu next batch? I've got the pair for sale on CL but so far no one wants them. They are rosecombs and not that common. I can't deal with Dels and Leghorns. The roo is real pretty.
