Here are our 3 runners, Salt, Pepper and Chilli - They took a few months to calm down but now they are such characters,
so sweet and come to us for treats and hose spray. We are planning on hatching some more in the spring! maybe even get our own drake.......

Aw! So pretty!!! They are such characters, today I got home from work and Willow and Ivy came up to me quacking and flapping and happy to see me! It was so heart-warming after a long day!

Galgo98 what color Runners do you have? I just love them! I entered 3 colored Runners at a big show coming up. They'll be AOV colors (Blue Dusky, Blue Trout and Blue/fawn). Your's have gorgeous heads.

Also, there were huge Galgo entries in Sweden, but they came from all over, including Finland. I especially liked the rough coated ones. They reminded me of a cross between a Greyhound and Scottish Deerhound, but I know the breed is very old. It's too bad they are so abused in their own Country.

Thanks! I can't take credit for them, I just buy Holderread's ducklings and feed them! The blue and the black were exhibition ducklings, so I'm sure on them. The other three were deluxe assortment. I think far left is pencilled w/bad markings, not sure about the "buff" one (since it doesn't have dark bill), and the brown one is maybe a trout (she does have eye strips not visible in pic). Maybe you could tell me?? Good luck at the show! Keep us posted!!

My galgos have been mostly smooth. My current female has one rough leg, I didn't realize this was genetically possible. I keep it shaved to match the other three! My friend has a galgo that is totally rough! He looks like a "miniature" (60#) deerhound! Even people who know dog breeds are very confused when they see him! I am hoping to get to Scooby (galgo rescue) in Spain to help out some day soon. Although, I'm worried that I won't be able to handle it. I've been a vet tech for 17yrs and have seen a great deal of abuse and neglect; but it doesn't compare to what happens over there. Breaks my heart.

These are this years hatch, Lola (white) Charlie (white) Sue Black and Marmalade (multi) They are 19 weeks old now :)
We have re-homed Marmalade 2 days ago because he had started to fight Charlie over the females/food/water and the garden space....poor Charlie was being terrorized, we do miss him :(
Here's a photo of them as babies.

Baby ducks are possibly the cutest thing ever! Beautiful Runners, and a beautiful picture! Marmalade is a pretty boy! Sue your black one looks like my Willow, the black ones have a different look about them, don't you think? Like when they look at you as if they know something about you that even you don't know? Idk I'm probably nuts! LOL

No you are not nuts babe, ours have that look too....everytime I open the backdoor they all stop what they are doing and stand staring at you lol.

Willow found out how to use the stairs to get on the deck yesterday...to eat the potted basil...wierdos! Does anyone else's ducks eat herbs? They scarf the stuff down like candy!
