Show off your Indian Runners!

I read an article in Countryside mag a couple years ago about Comfrey being used as livestock feed. Mine get about 6 big leaves and between the ducks /goose and chickens it's wiped out in not time.

(Jumping in here)

Yes, comfrey is an herb. Looks a little bit like hosta at first glance. Mine eat comfrey some.
Interesting....hey Amiga, you have a Runner I saw in another thread that started out black but is now freckled with white....do all black Runners do that? (Like us getting grey hair?)

From what I read, many of them develop white feathers, and it is kinda like going grey. Some of them do it much sooner than others, some have much more of it than others. Zwei is now almost entirely white. Sieben is the most lovely dappled black and white, from the head down, with shimmering green and blue highlights in her wings. sigh.

Thanks, CalBells, Sieben is now about twice as white. She has such a lovely personality, too. Lays the biggest, roundest eggs, little champ lays for a year or more, about 5 or 6 eggs a week. She likes to stand near me, just looks up into my face with her serene brown eyes.

She is named Sieben because seven is a special number, and she is always just a little ways away from the flock when foraging, and when sleeping, others may cluster in twos or threes, but she is always solo. A real prime number.

Hmmm. Gotta root around here .....

I am not much of a photographer, either in quantity or quality. My beloved took this about a year ago.

This is Sieben.

Photographs cannot do her coloring any justice.
Aw, I love her....Willow is like that, she and Ivy run up to greet me when I come outside and Willow just gives me this soft stare with a brown eye cocked up at me...silly girls, so sweet.
