I just read an add to day in my market bulletin..guy is selling them for $100. I always always wanted peacocks..

Are they mean..the birds are huge, imagine they could tear you up. How about housing...do they eat the same feed as chickens?? Just how loud are they?

I really need to start reading up..

After seeing all these beautiful pics I want one even more!

If you get them young, they can be pretty docile. Most just want to stay at a distance, they aren't mean. Mine follow me everywhere. They eat less then chickens, they are more pickers than gobblers, LOL. They do need room, that tail gets long and mine do not like to get wet, they act like they are melting. They need more protein, feed them like turkeys etc...​

Mine are still young. I have two pied peahens,two blackshoulder peahens, two blackshoulder peacocks, and a pair of white ones! They are all one year ols except for one of the pied, she is two. I have one that will let me pet her and pulls on my clothes to make me pay attention to her. Her and her brother will sit with me at the picnic table, but he does not like to be touched! I had a huge male about 4 years ago, but some dogs got in the pen and killed him and two young peahens.
