When my Dad and I see wild deer and turkeys together, the turkeys often like to flap around and fly at the deer to scare them away so that they can have all the food to themselves. We were wondering if peafowl do the same thing, or if they are more friendly about sharing space with a deer? I figure they seem like they are more friendly to deer.

Ice was too afraid to eat her meal with a squirrel today. There was plenty of room & food on the granite slab for both of them to share, but she just wasn't so sure about the squirrel. The funny thing was there was plenty of food elsewhere around the pen, but instead she just gave up and walked away to go preen.

I think she deserved it though. Today I watched her sweet daughter Snow White preen her face. Ice was really enjoying it, then Snow White stopped and asked Ice to preen her face in return. Ice very coldly pecked hard at Snow White's face. Snow White turned away, then proceeded to try asking Ice several more times, and each time Ice pecked her hard on the face. It wasn't preening it was just Ice being very mean to her own daughter.

This young deer fella and his mom have been hanging around here for the last few days.
Whenever they show up the nosy peas just gather around to get a close look at the deer, follow them around for a while, and then lose interest.

I'm with your peas watching deer after a while gets boring. I was on a trip recently and sat in a stand just to get some deer photos.

The sun finally made an appearance this evening, for a little while, before sunset. We spent a lot of time today working on yard & pen drainage. Just a sloppy, sloppy mess, not to mention our trip to retrieve our hunting gear from the lease. Rode the 4 wheeler through water anywhere from 6" deep (@ the blind) to probably 18" deep (@ the game camera). But this was nice to see.

We still got clouds and rain except we are getting clear skys at night go figure.
I need some UV's i am starting to get depressed with all the mess but hey all the feathers are washed into the ground now .

Zaz you are a picture fiend!

Here are some earlier in the year, they are going to have to keep me going thru this cold spell. Supposed to get to 1 degree with 40 mph wind gusts! Ouch!

The last is Pete inspecting my paint job, he HATES it!!! He no longer "blends"

. Was his favorite place to sleep at night! On the other hand, Angel loves it!!! Excuse pic quality, just my little iPhone pics.

The one picture where Angel is inspecting the back of the shed cracks me up! My handyman quit on us halfway thru the job. Looks like he is saying "someone really needs to finish this!!"
