Show off your Peas!

I can't wait for pics, birdman! You sure are lucky finding all these birds. I keep scanning cl all over and can't find any pied hens, all I see are cocks and they are mostly India blue. The pretty ones I see are all 5 hours drive or more or way expensive. Or don't have a picture. What's that about?

Congrats!

I just looked at my UPA membership directory from last year to check for breeders in Kansas. Of four breeders, two of them list #5, which is the UPA's number for India Blue Pied peafowl.

The first breeder who is listed as raising pieds is:
Linda Anno in Hoyt Kansas. Telephone: (785) 986-6281

The second breeder who lists having pieds is:
Michael & Deann Winter in Robinson Kansas. Telephone: (785) 544-6694
Email: [email protected]

For both breeders I can give you their address. Just PM me if you would like their address because I figure it is better not to make that public just incase.

If they are not close enough to you perhaps they could at least help you find someone closer to you with pieds.

well there here and in the greenhouse...I didn't worm them right off the bat...they were in boxes for two days so I figured I wouldn't stress them out and give them a month before I do the worm. And as for birds if you need some when they breed ill hook you up for a stellar price...or I can find you some birds...I seem to have good luck finding birds at great deals. It was weird I opened all the boxes to let them out and not one bird jumped out...then 15 minutes later half of them were out...but it was to dark....so here are some boxed peafowl....any ideas on the kinds and genders...?

Making rounds with the pups so far they have been beat up by a momma duck and flogged by a momma hen just for looking at their baby's so i guess they figured playing with them is out of the question, they now give momma and baby's lots of room when they are coming threw

Pretty peafowl and pretty woods Zaz!

How do you find your peafowl each day? Do the dogs lead you to them or do they have a routine where they start their day drinking from the pond or something before heading out?

When I free-ranged for a short time with my first pair, they had around 3 usual places where they could be found. Some days I would go to all 3 spots and not find them. Then I would have to do lots of searching and freaking out until I would find them scratching around behind the barn or somewhere else where they normally didn't go. They liked to hide in or around the big azalea bushes, so that always made it difficult to see them. You would think Ice being a blackshoulder hen would make her easy to spot, but she was still hard to see. One day I found the two of them running back and forth under the metal barn gate. They just kept running out then ducking back under the gate and running in. They calmed down when I showed up.
