Well I have a name idea that I have been saving for a few years for a male green peafowl, but now I am not sure if I will use it or not. A person on another site once told me that if I ever get a green peafowl I should name it Feng Huang which is pronounced "F-uh-ng W-ah-ng" with an "uh" and an "ah" sound in between. The name comes from an East Asian mythology of a bird that fights snakes and in some illustrations it looks a lot like a green peafowl. It is very similar to the mythological phoenix. Although the name is actually for two birds - Feng is male and Huang is female. It would be cool to name a male Feng and a female Huang but for me Huang isn't a good female name. In the mythology the male is supposed to represent the solar cycle and summer. Peacocks do seem to represent summer very well by growing their elaborate train just for spring and summer.

So I think the Imperator's name is going to be Feng.

There are a lot more interesting bits about the Feng Huang that I didn't mention

That sounds like a good idea for a name!

It's kind of interesting that Feng/Fenghuang is related to Peng, a mythical Chinese bird transformed from a fish - it's easy to see how they could come up with a fish connection looking at the scales on a green pea!

If I remember correctly in some mythologies some would refer to peafowl as being a symbol of immortality, incorruptible, wise, all seeing or knowing, etc. This made me think of the conversation since it involves peafowl and snakes.

Thanks I decided to re-name him already.

I like the mythology of Feng Huang but I didn't think the name fit him so I decided to re-name him Raptor. I watched the Jurassic World movie and the raptors reminded me of him. I have always been a dinosaur fan.
