Sausage, potato and onions and apple cinnamon oatmeal bread

Let me see if I can find the one we made growing up...

Brownies

2 stick Butter or Margarine
2 cups Sugar
4 Eggs
2 teaspoon Vanilla
1½ cup Flour
½ teaspoon Salt
1 cup Cocoa
1 teaspoon Baking Powder

Preheat oven to 350°. Melt butter with sugar and mix well. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Sift together dry ingredients. Add to sugar mixture. Spoon into a greased 9”x 13” x 2” pan and bake 30-35 minutes until brownies just begin to pull from sides of pan. Cool to room temperature upright in pan on a wire rack. Cut into squares and serve.

Reduce temperature by 25° for a glass pan.

The recipe is very basic. You can add a couple of teaspoons of espresso powder, a cup of chopped nuts and or a cup of chocolate chips to this recipe

Roomy, this is the brownie recipe I really like:

Deee-licious!

Thank you guys!!!!! :bow:bow:bow I really. REALLY need some brownies today! My kids have started baking recently & I'm so glad, but I don't realize when we're low on stuff & sadly I barely have any sugar or flour. :hit DD3 had to make brownies from a box (boo! sniff!) but I'll pick up our baking staples tomorrow & maybe we can do a brownie bake off this weekend. :wee

What kind of espresso do you guys use? Is it like an instant espresso???

I found this one on the Food52 sight.

Maybe I could do an A, B & C Brownie-off with Rons/Toms, NFC's/King Arthur, & Food52

I wouldn't say no to a piece of Maddys apple cinnamon oatmeal bread either! :drool

DD1 made a spicy eggplant & tomato linguini again with some (frozen) meatballs on the side. She took the skin of the eggplant this time & it went all mushy in her. Still good tho. I washed it all down with some boxed brownie. It was not the homemade batch I was drooling for, but it did the trick (for not at least) & I didn’t have to make any of it. YAY!!! :wee

Yes, instant espresso. Play around with the amount you put in to see how much is good to you.

The fudgy brownie recipe should be good. Fudgy brownies do not have baking powder so they do not rise like a cake.

You often make your potatoes the way I like to make them. (with skins on) Whenever I get New Potatoes, Yukon Gold, or Red potatoes, I never peel those. Scrub,,,,,,,,,,,,, Pluck deep eyes,,,,,,,,,, and dice.:drool:drool:drool
DD introduced me to making mashed potatoes, from above mentioned types, cooked with skins on them also.
DW prefers mashed potatoes from peeled.
