I LIKE IT-I LOVE IT!
Let me see if I can find the one we made growing up...
Brownies
2 stick Butter or Margarine
2 cups Sugar
4 Eggs
2 teaspoon Vanilla
1½ cup Flour
½ teaspoon Salt
1 cup Cocoa
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
Preheat oven to 350°. Melt butter with sugar and mix well. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Sift together dry ingredients. Add to sugar mixture. Spoon into a greased 9”x 13” x 2” pan and bake 30-35 minutes until brownies just begin to pull from sides of pan. Cool to room temperature upright in pan on a wire rack. Cut into squares and serve.
Reduce temperature by 25° for a glass pan.
The recipe is very basic. You can add a couple of teaspoons of espresso powder, a cup of chopped nuts and or a cup of chocolate chips to this recipe
Yes, instant espresso. Play around with the amount you put in to see how much is good to you.Thank you guys!!!!!I really. REALLY need some brownies today! My kids have started baking recently & I'm so glad, but I don't realize when we're low on stuff & sadly I barely have any sugar or flour.
DD3 had to make brownies from a box (boo! sniff!) but I'll pick up our baking staples tomorrow & maybe we can do a brownie bake off this weekend.
What kind of espresso do you guys use? Is it like an instant espresso???
I found this one on the Food52 sight.

Maybe I could do an A, B & C Brownie-off with Rons/Toms, NFC's/King Arthur, & Food52
I wouldn't say no to a piece of Maddys apple cinnamon oatmeal bread either!![]()
