Thanks. Being in South GA, we get at least one good storm a year. Don't want to say you get used to it, but to learn to expect it. It's one of the 4 seasons : summer, hurricane season, hunting season, and planting season. We prepare for the worse and hope for the best.I am so sorry!
Be safe--An article said it might become a hurricane before hitting Florida
So I just found out my little farm is in the direct path of the tropical storm in the gulf. It's going to hit Wednesday. Looks like I've got a little bit of hurricane prep to do. This time last year we went a week without power. We are literally the end of the line. First to lose power and last to get it back. I'll be cooking a few pots of soup and stew to have on hand and plenty of charcoal for the grill.
I have been out of town this weekend for an ANNUAL REUNION at BFF's farm.
Activities were: camping, hiking, climbing inside barn, roasting wieners on campfire, socializing, consuming beverages of all varieties, eating assortment of whatever everyone brought to share, ( 5 or 6 long folding tables stacked lengthwise, filled with GOOOOOOOODIES), sitting around campfire exchanging stories, listening to GOOOOOOOD TUNES.
I brought my laptop with my BOSTON AMPLIFIER connected to it. Enough power to fill barn with pleasant sound level. Some peeps brought some of their music disc and played those, besides my music playlists. I had most of those songs in my library anyways.
Here are some FOOD RELATED PIX.
