@N F C I made Salisbury steak tonight. It was fantastic, thanks for sharing. I know it'll be part of our winter menus regularly.

Yay, so glad you liked it IM! I've added it to our regular winter menu too.

And good job taking pics! I managed to get 1 of the prep, then DH came home from work and we devoured the finished result.

Beef Roast Slow Cooked until the angel hair transformation process wuz complete. Fresh black pepper corn is that speckled mess scattered about. Too lazy for Homemade Buttermilk Biscuits- buttered sandy bread instead. Belly bursting. Down for the count!
Estimating (solid hunch) that the ole man will pass gas tonight, reeking of potatoes/beans/carrots/onions/garlic/bay leaves. oregano/thyme/and beef bouillon flavored/butter/flour rue, and blame it on me:rolleyes:. You can't smell salt if it is kosher.;) Too bad.

The roast beast looks amazing Connie! You're giving me ideas...been a while since we've had a roast.

It's roughly 2:30 am the worst is passed us. Every one is asleep but me. Rain on tin roof is usually soothing, but not when it's getting blown off. I know we have a least one piece of the roof that went awol. That happened around 11. I got woken up this time by glass shattering. All windows are intact. Must have come from a planter, missed cup, or a wind-chime. I'll know when the sun come up. The power is out. That's the easy part. So old farm house = original wood frame windows. The windows are intact, but they are leaky. Going to bite the bullet and replace them. At 11 we couldn't stand it. Had to check on the livestock. Everyone is tucked away on the roost. Pen is in great shape. We have a flash flood warning in effect until 3 or 4. We are safe on the farm... The road to the farm is a different story. The farm is on a massive hill. The rd gets washed out and flooded every time it rain. Michael might have turned it into a river. I just wanted to give an update about us before my phone dies. We're not even going to bother with the generator until in the morning....don't really need it to sleep. But yes, don't worry. We made it passed the worst.

Audie, so glad to hear the worst is over for you!

Tonight’s potoato & vegi soup. Peeled russets, boiled with onion & garlic.

Sautéed onions, garlic, celery, carrot & power green mix (spinach, kale & chard) & spices.

All mixed together with a creamy, butter & garlic roux.

It made enough soup for at least 3-4 meals. I put half the leftovers in the fridge & froze the rest for later.

Served with kielbasa & a side of grass with homemade croutons.

I also made brownies. I used NFC’s (King Arthur) recipe. It was soooo good & soooo rich. :drool It was too rich for DH who was raised in a vanilla household, but my kids (raised properly in a dark chocolate household) loved it. :love Thanks for the suggestion NFC. Will try Rons next time & see which one everyone prefers.

Glad you liked the brownies Roomie!

We have some retro video never uploaded to youtube or what not. Back in the 4-H daze, I wish BYC would do a video host format server. I really don't like posting family private stuff on youtube. There's weirdos out there. Maybe Rob will do a IN HOUSE video upload some day without an outside host.:fl

Connie you can control who sees your videos on youtube. It doesn't have to be public for the whole world to see. I forget the options but miblne are set so only people with the link can see them, not public.

Good morning!!! Got the generator bumping. Cooking breakfast with only natural light at the moment, but at least we can have a hot meal. Roof was all talk. We have loose pieces of metal, but it's intact. We have several down limbs. One of the deer stands is turned over. The most dangerous thing is a downed power pole in the back. It's only an acre from the house. The lines down to in 3 different directions. It's already been reported. Now it's a waiting game.

Good to hear from you Audie, enjoy that breakfast!

I hope the flooding is not too bad for you!
