My alloted meal of the day,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Cheese and potato dumplings. Had these thrown into pickle soup. :drool Golf ball size. These came done and frozen.
My mom used to make a similar item but they were not stuffed. The dough is made similar to what a dinner roll would be. If baked, it would yield dinner rolls. She cooked/baked (actually steamed) them on top of a pot of boiling water. Pot had a cheese cloth secured with string around top of pot, to support them. There was a domed cover placed over them as they were steaming. Did not take long, like about 5 minutes or so. They came out white, since no eggs to make a yellow tint. We ate them as soon as done with whatever was available. They did taste great if there was some gravy to dip them into. :drool
Eating these kind of brought back some pleasant childhood memories.:)
