We ran ours for 7 straight days. But it takes gas. Gas prices drive up the cost of the meats bottom line, since most of it we raised. And all the gas stations were dry as well. if you could find a station w/gas, it was a 3 hour line. People were wasting gas sitting idling with their air conditions on in line.. KRAZY AMERIKANS.. In the end, the national guard was escorting tankers coming into Tampa's port. It was nuts. We had 50 gallons of fuel prior to the storm and only maybe 10 left when the power came back on.
Our store's were effected as well. Bare shelves.
Florida is over populated. Very over. Mob rules are implemented with the slightest crisis.
Guess what? Hurricane season is just around the corner.. Waiting for that ocean to heat up.
We live rural. They had to clean the tree damage before restoration of service. The city got restored first. Rural was less populated and less important. We are not part of mass civilization..
That was a wild ride. 04' we had 4 come thru. Not as big as Irma. She spawned tons of tornadoes with her wrath.
I can still hear that generator if I close my eyes and concentrate.
So.. back to the yum.. I set out "lost in freezer space" stuff out for din din! Got a barley call but waiting to get it the morning instead.

I bought pit boss hickory BBQ Pellets. Home depot had the best price and free shipping
Make sure you buy high quality.. Smoke is soot. All natural soot is best.
We have looked into investing into one for the convenience. The distributor that we get our big scratch and dent bags from sells ripped bags of wood pellets. We snag em when we see them. Only the all natural ones.
Rural King (Burger King's little brother) here has a ton of flavors. It is becoming popular.
