We have the lemon blueberry biscuits pretty regularly. They are super easy. The pralines were a huge hit too. My husband's favorites are my pound cake and coconut cream pie. Going to make an apple cobbler sometime today. I'll be sure to share it.
 
I've been a vegetarian for almost 30yrs. Shhhhhh! Don't tell anyone, I don't think they know. :lau I don't say much about it because I prefer that people decide to dislike me for my sarcastic personality rather than what I do or don't eat. :gig All kidding aside, I'm not the crazy vegetarian that will ever harass people about what they eat & I hope that road goes both ways. As for people like Connie that homestead their own food... They are my Heroes!!! :bow If I ate meat, I'd want it to be from my own yard every time!!!

I'm not a vegetarian, but sometimes I cook vegetarian meals. Eggplant lasagna is one of my faves. I also love doing a veggie stir fry too. Veggies, fried rice, and soy sauce. What's not to love?! The meat we do eat, we usually harvest ourselves. Fish deer and yard chicken are what we mainly eat. The plan is to get a few pigs. I could honestly do without beef with the exception of a good steak. Lol I'm always looking for new veggies dishes tho. Will definitely be on the look out.

I just copied a recipe for Peach Strawberry pie. I can't wit to try it!

By substitute I mean no tofu or seitan "flavored like insert meat here" hubs will eat cheese stuffed shells, peanuts in salads, veggie lasagna. He just wants a slab of cow or pig to go with :gigI agree, humans are omnivorous and we need what meat provides for us. Synthetic vitamins don't cut it.:highfive:
I'm pretty sure this is about where I was brain was running on empty and my brain let my mouth use up the rest of conserved energy. Up late and burning the candle from both ends.
Nothing wrong being vegan or vegetarian. Now that I have read my post, that was a little harsh. DH's sis was vegan for almost 3 yrs. She fell off the wagon hard. I feel it has a lot to with our metabolisms and what they can handle/can not handle. To each their own and sorry if my post was offensive to anyone.

I had DH's family in all week & am behind 350 posts. I hope everybody had a delicious 4th! I bought steaks for the very 1st time ever … Holy crow! How can anyone afford to eat that stuff? :oops:
Red meat prices are thru the roof right now. Chicken is rock bottom. Everything else in between fluctuates and here in our neck of the woods.

I'm here Connie! Of course, with the current work schedule I'm here for a bit in the early hour a.m. (where you all have been making me sooooo hungry), off to work, then home to collapse. Only cooking going on around here is me in the restaurant (which is a ton of work but going well). But, 09-01 is the last day for the restaurant to be open this season, then look out fellow yummers, I'll be joining you all in the kitchen!

In the meantime, keep on cooking, taking photos and making me hangry! :woot

Caveman is a member of chili anonymous. Members like him, meet bi-weekly and discuss with a support group, different ideas to find a way to work chili into an everyday meal rotation. Something referred to as- "CHILI-TOPIA".

I added half a bag of butterscotch chips instead of nuts. I like them better with peanut butter chips, again only half a bag.
