Pouring rain again today. The fly strike is happening to the goats and pigs. It's when the fly's start eating the animals ears. Turning them into open wounds and bleeding flesh. The pigs have it the worst. 10 times a day I spray their ears with hydrogen peroxide. Our largest sow is lame. I've injected 8cc's of Ivermectin, she is on a course of injected penicillin and receiving banomine daily to ease her discomfort. She did eat something last night, after 4 days of nothing but nutridrench in a syringe.
We broke the cardinal rule of only treating sickness if it is present by worming our entire stock just to be safe. It is a nasty disgusting mess.
