Nothing great to show off, but most of you here know I like to share
Blueberry pierogies . These are filled with wild blueberries also known as BILBERRIES. Another reference is low bush blueberries. They are common in THE EUROPEmuch more than here.
The high bush type we encounter in the produce section are larger. Another difference between the larger (common ) blueberry;; the inside flesh is grayish in color. The bilberries, are smaller, and the inside flesh is blue throughout.
I know that sometimes I might be posting info that most of you already know. Butthere is always someone out there that learns it for the first time.
,,, I'm copying and relaying this info from my stone tablets , before erosion make them unreadable.
My BFF that lives up in the North Woods of Wisconsin, on the shores of Lake Superior, gathers them growing wild. Also prefers the taste compared to the larger ones. They are VERY ABUNDANT there. So are the black bears. Always packs heat when he goes blueberry picking. Never know when he might surprise a mama with cubs.Claims he is not afraid of the bears, just of the wolves. I on the other hand am not afraid of the wolves,,, just the bears.
Served with a spoon of sour cream..These pierogies are on the sweet side, but not dessert sweet. Dinner plate sweet.

I initially broke my right baby toe about fifteen years ago. I missed a stair, and did a ballerina dance on just that toe. The X-ray looked like the tip of a crayon had broken off, and been placed to the left. The rest of the toe was to the right. It was bad enough to need to be fixed. Unfortunately, he couldn’t do it right without surgery. Silly for just a toe.
Various breaks over the years. This time I stumbled over a toy, and kicked the coffee table. The toe was straight out to the side. It’s painful, but it’s remembering how it looked (taped up now. TY vetwrap!) that was just too much to handle.
