Our homeowners insurance = 250K- because they call it "rebuild cost" -of material and labor with today's costs- not 30 yrs ago when ours was built.

My kitchen is currently nicknamed "Ground Zero".

It's seasonal. @N F C should remember how it comes and goes. This season is just more repetitious than previous.
We use to tractor a huge huge huge garden (Not exaggerating). We had to run irrigation to the garden because of drought conditions. First sprinklers, then just flooding the channels when it got worse.
Being optimistic-
ZERO MOSQUITOES right now! They need standing water to hatch larvae. The water that accumulates is always moving.
ZERO FLEA DIP for my dogs and cat this year. The fleas and tics are drowning.
ALMOST ZERO love bugs this recent spring, they drown.
My ducks are in high heaven. I placed kiddie pools at a bunch of rain gutter drains and I never have to clean the water. The rain keeps flushing out the scum/poo/dirt.. ducks are digging it.
I hope August dries out. Weather says 80% rain until next week. I hate that guy.
Farmers with crops are doing good. Farmers with animals like goats and pigs have a mess on their hands. Unless you raise pigs on concrete.
Oh well.. life goes on. With ivernmectin lol..

Yep, I remember that weather Connie!

A lot of people don't believe it gets cold in FL in the winter (they seem to think Floridians all live on a warm beach and eat oranges all day). Let me tell ya, when the humidity is HIGH and the temps are LOW, that cold will freeze garden plants, fingers, toes, and chase you back in the house asap. Our little farm was in north central FL and now we're in WY...some of those winter days in FL felt colder than where I am now.

Ugh, love bugs! Those things always gave me the willies!

I will say, WY mosquitos are worse than the FL ones. Those nasty things are HUGE here and you feel it every time they bite (sting?), they leave welts. Clouds of them will hover and then follow their victims unless evading procedures are implemented. We're pretty much past mosquito season now and are entering fly season.

@Farmer Connie And @N F C when I moved here from FL, I was in midfle school. The kids didn't believe that I was from FL because I wasn't tan and already had a "coat". I told them that FL gets cold and they just stared at me. ;)

I believe that!

Actually, I started off in FL down in the Keys. When we moved to north FL, I didn't have a coat and had to wear one of DH's old ones.

My husband will kill me but I'm going to tell this anyway.

He makes himself a grilled cheese by toasting the bread, putting a couple slices of cheese on, then wraps the sandwich in a damp paper towel and nukes it. It's disgusting and he was trying to feed me that for dinner!

I'm making tonights dinner this morning
