We don't catch our own fish here. The ones we got with grandchildren were obviously released... We do buy frozen filet's (tilapia, and flounder mostly) I'm going to find and buy some of that breading, and try it... ... I have an open mind as well and will try it on other foods as well. We do make breaded chicken cutlets, as well as other cutlets. Like to break ALL the rules here...
We (DW and I, but mostly DW) make our own bread crumbs occasionally. Will also add quantities of chips like Doritos, and other flavors into the mix. Never a recipe, but just what is available at the time. Makes some unique flavors...

I make my own breading with everything else... But zatarans has it going on. Lol. Whether you catch your own or buy filets. It's all good. I have to buy filets in the winter...., but then again we eat a lot of deer then. Thinking of getting a bow to extend my hunting season. Lol. Back to the breading, I use it to make hush puppies as well. It makes life a little easier when I'm cooking and shooing my 3 Littles out the kitchen. Fish is really the only protein I fry. Now.... I will pan fry/sauté just about anything.

I wish I’d grabbed a head of lettuce today. I’m craving a hamburger. I’m going to grab a tomato from the vine, and force it to ripen. Lettuce would have been nice too.

No. I grew cabbage once. It was nerve wracking. I can’t eat vegetables that I know slugs or worms touched.

Never heard of it here.... It is a meat substitute , I wonder if it is similar to tofu.

Awesome man. I'm having garden envy. Our garden this year has basically gone to the deer. We're in the planning stages of deer proofing the fall garden. The deer ought to be good and fat this year. The only thing they didn't eat was my eggplant and squash.
