Are you ready for Thursday?

The after pic looks delicious :gig

Like you, the work begins today.

@igorsMistress I forgot to answer part of your earlier post about the house, oops!

DH just got back from spending a couple days there. He's been down in the crawl space seeing how all the ducting and plumbing are currently set up and how we're going to have to change things (one thing we want to do is add a 2nd bathroom). He also had to do a lot of clean up down there, it was a mess.

We're going back after Thanksgiving to start taking out the current kitchen and other fun stuff.

Thanks for asking!

Always begin holiday baking ahead of time. You don’t want to find that an appliance doesn’t work, a baking dish is missing, ingredients are unavailable, or rodents have dirtied your kitchen.
I make a menu and an ingredient list. Then I go shopping for everything except the fresh ingredients 2 weeks before. Lol. As soon as Halloween is over, I start my planning. Thanksgiving dinner is my favorite meal of the year. Once I get everything I need, I make a cook time list. Which foods cook at which Temp. That way I can double up and get multiple stuff done.

:lau Want a laugh? Study your siblings’ noses. I was looking through pictures, and for some crazy reason, I realized that two of my sisters have my mother’s nose, and my youngest brother has my father’s. I now think noses are funny looking, and we should get rid of them!

It sounds like you guys are going to be busy. And yes, 2 bathrooms are a definite plus. I'm sure that will increase your value too. Have fun!

I love doing and reading about house projects. Sharing ideas is always fun too.

None of us are fans so you have to let me know please Bull
I like pecan pie..:D
Well BC you come to my rescue again..:yesss: You do remember when I did play by play on the pickle soup. FMF was not hanging here then.:(

Here it is again.
We (DW and I) cook chicken soup often. A large pot. When the contents gets to about half of original quantity, then we prepare/enhance the rest to a slightly different soup. Variations are; pickle,,,, sorrel,,,,, barley,,,, and others. (one,,,,,,,,,, BC and Penny cant have, so I do not even mention it:oops:)

For the pickle soup, take a jar of pickles in brine. Those are not available everywhere, so finding may be a challenge. I get mine from European Deli stores. They are plentiful in Chitown.
Not a very big jar. Net wt; 24 OZ.

Shred the pickles on one of these.

You also end up with the brine water that the pickles are in.. Probably less than a cup. :idunnoI never measured BTW.
All goes into pot of soup and additional water to create full pot. Boil up and cook for a lil while. About 10 minutes.
A friend also makes pickle soup using Standard Pickles (Kosher Dill Pickles) that are in vinegar. Shreds the rinsed pickles but does not add any of the vinegar water. Claims it tastes good. I have never used regular pickles in that way for soup. We eat pickles like that with our hamburgers.:drool
These soups do taste:drool:drool:drool good to us. Otherwise would not continue making them.:old
I'll have to give it try, if I can find the right pickles.. im not sure about dills in it.. :hmm

Cornbread for stuffing and pumpkin cake with mini chocolate chips. I remembered this morning that I'd tossed the last of my baking pwd and I have no white vinegar so I used ACV and baking soda instead :idunno

Pumpkin pie is in the oven.

Looks good!!!
