Too many duck eggs...devilled eggs! Party like it's 1979!

Purple; one night in cooked red cabbage.
Blue; one night in two cups of water with one spoon of cooked red cabbage.
Yellow; One night in two cups of water and two table spoons of turmeric (I was out of turmeric so I used curry-powder with turmeric in it)
Green; NOT in parsley. I was out of spinach...so I tried parsley...as you can see they are still white. Use cooked spinach for green.
Bright pink; Red beets. This fuzzy eater hates red beets so bright pink is not made.

Filling;
Yellow; wasabi-soy sauce topped with chopped spring onions and fresh red pepper.
Purple; Cajun spices, frank's red hot sauce, topped with bacon and fried onion. (would do different next time; top with frank's hot sauce don't mix it in)
Blue/white; pickle and dill, topped with pickle and dill.

Maybe that first case of heartburn should have been a warning BC :lau I never had it until expecting my first kid. Hey, maybe ice cream would ease the burn?

Nothing special going on here for the Super Bowl since a) DH is gone and b) even if he were here, we wouldn't be watching it
:D Actually, I was using him to go to a Steppenwolf concert, and have one last ride before going to college, and finally living my life.
 Didn’t work out so well.

Very colorful! Does cooking the eggs in red cabbage any sort of taste to them?

Who knows how things are going to go BC, there's a reason for everything. And as for making plans, "Man plans and God laughs" is something I believe in 100% :)

I think roasting with some aromatics would help, but the bbq fixes most things :gig

Maybe a good seasoning rub

Those are wicked deviled eggs great job

I have to report that I didn't like the quail. Just wrapping in bacon wasn't good. I think next time we'll just use the breasts and they'll go on the bbq. I'll be looking for recipes too.
The way the meat smelled bothered me, and that also was the taste. Kind of...sweet maybe? I don't know, we'll figure it out.
Thanks!

When I hunted them growing up, I made quail stew with them

Thanks Ron, I'll look for a stew recipe for sure then! I have 4 birds going into the freezer now that I can use for one.

I found an Asian style recipe that sounds promising also, especially if they go on the bbq after marinating.
