SHOW OFF YOUR YUM! Food Photography Thread

My two girls are young enough that they should be laying. I added a dog crate with quail, and have not seen an egg since.
I'm going to be getting quail eggs in January to hatch for my birthday that is February 1st. I'm going to use some of them for meat, but I'm going to keep some of them for eggs to eat and incubate.

I'm honestly thinking about going with the pearl Coturnix Quail.

It looks delicious. Why does saffron need to be used with care?

I think if you use too much saffron it ruins the dish, I watch a lot of cooking shows.

Took me a while to catch up with you guys this morning!

Saffron is used with care mostly because it's the most expensive spice you'll probably ever buy. And also, because if you add too much it gives your food an "off" taste. Mostly it's used for the coloring and aroma it gives a dish.

Here's some good info about saffron (this is the place where I get spices & herbs from):

I have a tiny little jar of it left from the days when we had our tea & spice shop. I'm planning on making that teeny tiny jar last for years!

I bought some saffron years ago for a recipe and thought it didn't make a difference. I still have some I think, although I recently went through my spice cupboard and discarded outdated spices and herbs. I may have gotten rid of it. You are right. It's expensive.

I did my morning rounds already and the chicks are out running like lunatics in their run. The newly hatched are resting in the brooder.
Yep...you do everything before me. I'm 3 hours behind you, always playing catch-up. :wee By the time I make dinner, most of my friends on this thread are off the computer for the day. I'm sure my dinner pictures are not so appetizing in the morning.
