SHOW OFF YOUR YUM! Food Photography Thread

I have not forgiven dog food companies either. I don’t remember Purina dog chow being recalled, and don’t wanna check. I feed it to the dog, and keep an eye on the news.
When the recalls started way back, I had a puppy in the truck. He’d go cross country, and chow down on a lot of steak and Fruit Loops.

I don't think any of the dog foods I've ever used to have been recalled. My dad feeds Purina dog chow and has for 20+ years. His dogs have all lived past 16.

We use kibble in the morning too. We use the 4health brand. I can't wait until processing day comes for the chickens. I think I need another chest freezer. We have 29 chicks, but I'm sure I'm keeping some.

I have 12 chicks and 7 tweens. There are at least 9 roosters among them. I'm just starting my dual purpose project with Nn and meaty mixes. Still working on picking out the boys to keep and then in Spring we'll weed through the pullets.

I prefer smaller batches for processing. There's only 2 of us plus the pups and not enough room in my chest freezer for that many chickens. Plus, 5 or 6 birds is more than enough killing for one day for us.

We are a family of 4 humans and 4 dogs plus a cat. I rarely eat meat, but sometimes I feel like it once in a blue moon. I was hoping that my husband and I could process them throughout an entire week. We were hoping to do five a day or something like that. We haven't figured out exactly what we are going to do and I guess we won't really be able to plan anything definite until we start processing them. I still need to get my plucker and scalder.

I'm not exactly sure when I should plan on processing them all. I did jersey giant crosses and some say to do it at 16 weeks, some say to wait till 20 weeks. Only time will tell I guess.

I'm quite positive that we will have to go buy another chest freezer, which I don't mind because it's less meat I have to get at the grocery store.

I waited a bit longer for one and he definitely put on more breast weight. JG are slow growers so you could do a few at 16 weeks and see what the carcass looks like and decide if you want to do more or wait for them to grow more.

I use a big canner to scald and hand pluck...it takes about 5 minutes and less cleanup than a plucker. For small batches a plucker seems like an unnecessary expense.

My brother gives us a gift card for Christmas and I always use it for something I'll use for a long time. I bought a instant pot, air fryer, and foodsaver last year. I was thinking about buying a turkey fryer and plucker this year. Maybe a ninja foodi too!

So we are having KFC for dinner tonight. We have to do a lot of running around to get ingredients for tomorrow and I feel like I deserve a break from the kitchen :gigThe dogs and family agreed... I'm thinking extra crispy 12 piece with yummy Mac and cheese and wedges :drool

@cavemanrich isn't KFC something you said you liked?
