It seems like a good idea, especially for a new project or color since you would not have all of the silkie chicks to get rid of. I typically sell off the silkie chicks I hatch from Bowtie X Silkie Breedings anyway since they are not quite where I want them yet, they are nice silkies, but not the quality of my breeders. Breeding one of them to a bowtie would be more of a lateral move in my opinion. I always put each generation with the best silkies I have to keep improving them.

Maybe I will be bold at some point and breed these too and see if I can hatch a clean necked splash

PSe roo is a showgirl (bowtied) he is just sooo poufy you can barely tell unless he stretches out his neck!

Yay! I was hoping to inspire some people to give it a try! You don't get as many outstanding birds,... but one outstanding homozygous cock can make your next season of breeding an all-showgirl one! Imagine- every egg hatching out a showgirl!
