showgirls

I showed my kids this morning they were excited to see them my 5 year old girl said she thought they were chickens not jellyfish. Both of my kids seem to think a showgirl is a mini ostrich so I will just let them think that lol I am going to candle again on Sunday night and mark Wich ones I know for a fact are developing and Wich ones are questionable and I will post an exact count.

Jellyfish!!! That is FUNNY with a capital F!
Ostrich huh? I guess they do! MINI version. Its like having a baby ostrich that just does not grow. Cool.
I have all the new eggs in the bator. I will candle them soon. We have two barnyard specials due to hatch Monday, then showgirls on the 22 or 23. Cant wait. When are yours due again? I forget what you said and a bit too lazy to look back. (honesty is best policy)

I set them on the 5th so I think that will make them due on the 26th. I am hoping for atleast 1 splash out of the bunch I'm only going to keep a few of them and just sell the rest to a feeind of mine. After this I can get all the barnyard mix eggs and auracona eggs I want for free so I'm going to try them next.I can't wait till mu silkies and frizzles start laying so I can get me some sizzles to my wife is going to kill me she was ok with me ordering 6 chicks a couple of months ago and they*" accidentally" sent 20 lol

Accidently???? Ya, I accidently got some too. (what a coincidence) My poor Husband shakes his head and looks at me like, I have lost my wife to chickens. Its sad really. He started off not wanting any, now he has his own.
I have barnyard specails in the incubator now. Thats what all my layers are. They sure make me proud. They lay regular and good size. I will not be keeping all the showgirls either. I have friends to share with also. We trade as well. That is where all my first chicks came from. They just gave them all to me. My kids just adore hatching. We hatched with the summer camp kids in July and August. Both hatches were good. Our hatch at home last time was not so fortunate. We lost everyone. Not sure what I did wrong. Could have been the humidity. Too low. They could not get out of the shell. Sad really. This is my first time since. They are developing nicely too. I will take pictures when they hatch. My showgirls are due right before yours. Thats great. Well, off for now...have a great night. Jeanmarie

Ok I candled them again today Wich is day 7 and I have 14 showgirls that are developing and 4 auracona that came out of the fridge that are also developing. There were 2 showgirl eggs that I'm not counting that had a thick red circle around them that I think might be blood rings I think I lost a couple becouse I put a accurite digital thermostat in it and it says my incubator thermostat was also 7 degrees off so it was showing 107 on the new digital one with 47% humidity

Wow, 14 showgirls, that's great! Just wait for day 14, you can see the chicks kicking around in there

Your kids will love it!

14 is good!! Out of 22? 63%
I have 3 out of the first 9 eggs. They were the ones I was not counting on anyway due to the extended trip here. I have not candled the other 8 eggs because they are only about 3 or so days old. I will wait on them. I have two due tomorrow (the barn yard specails)
I did not think eggs would develope after refirdgeration. wow! Thats great!
107??? wow, what a difference of 7 degrees. Sorry about that. I have 4 thermometers at different places in the incubators. I added another incubator as a hatcher. I bought a still air (little giant) as a hatcher so I could up the humidity in their last three days without disrupting the others that are not ready. I have three due dates.

I could not see anything at that point, (day 14) it was like they were squished already. I hope thats not a bad thing. They are due tomorrow. (the two). The first showgirls are due the 22 and the next showgirls are due the 29th.
