Hi everyone! I have a duck who is about a month and a half old and they moved outside today, and he had trouble swimming in the pond and began so shiver a bunch. His beak is a lot lighter than the other ducks and I don’t know what the issue is but I am concerned.
Thank you!

sounds like he is too young to swim. Is he a crested?

Hypothermia is a concern if ducklings swim in very cold water. Our water comes from a mountain spring and is very cold. so they have to be older to swim in the pool once feathered in and acclimated to the outside temps then they do fine. After your duckling warmed up out of the pond was it acting normal? and no longer shivering?
