hi,

Any advice would be helpful, been to several vets, none of which seem to know anything about geese and cant even tell me the sex.

I have a goose 18mths old. A few months ago became very addressive and moody (possibly indicatig a male). But over the last 8days had completely changed. Seems tired all the time, a little wobbly on feet sometimes, eyes half closed or closed and standing on one leg.

I also dont know if the goose is eating as he/she is with others and cant split as it would stress them too much. Recently seen eating bits of grass but not seen eating much. Passings are watery.

Any advice would be really helpful...running out of options of what i can do to help him or her! Thank you in advance

I don't know much about geese, but your description makes me wonder if your goose is a female and is egg bound. You might try reading the following thread and see if it's helpful:
https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/egg-binding-symptoms-treatment-and-prevention.66978/

This morning she/he couldn't walk without wobbling over and just sat still when would normally be walking around.

After an emergency trip to the vets, the vet has no idea what it could be. Not egg bound, healthy weight, heart wings eyes everything else seems fine. Doesn't think it's works or impacted.

So again we are at a loss, he has given glucose and baytril and has advised we keep syringing food into her but that's all that can be done for now.

Got him to check for egg bound, which he did and said definitely no so still no idea!

Thanks for the advice anyways, at least one thing can be ruled out

I'm sorry to hear that your goose is worse and that the vet didn't have any answers. I wish I could be of more help, but I just don't know much about geese. The only other suggestion I have is to repost your questions on one of the more popular goose sites here on BYC. Maybe someone with a lot of experience will see it better there and comment on it. I tried to find a goose specific thread on here with a lot of traffic but had some trouble finding one that had many people responding daily. Since it sounds like you need some help and info right away, I would try the following thread. It's not specific to geese but it has a lot of people on there all the time which includes a lot of experienced goose owners. Here's the link:

Good luck!
