Sick Peking duckling!

If she weighs 2 lbs and 11 ounces , the dose for the cephalexin would be,

35mg x 1.21 kilos = 42mg.

So take one of the 500mg cephalexin pills, crush thoroughly using a mortar and pestle, take the pill and mix in with 10 ml of sterilized/distilled water. The powder won't dissolve completely, so during the whole process you'll want to shake the bottle to distribute the powder as evenly as you can . You will be left with a mixture that contains 50mg of cephalexin per ml ( 50mg x 10ml = 500mg).

That said, you'll want to give her nearly 0.9ml of the liquid four times a day orally (PO).

Information on how to give poultry medicine orally.

How long do I need to give it to her?

That depends on when gets/if better, but seven/ten days would be a good estimate. The idea of starting her on antibiotics is because of the Wry neck going on, which can be caused of an bacterial infection. When treating these type of problems at home, it's a step-by-step process of elimination.

The antibiotics seem to make her not feel good. She doesn't get up or eat for a couple hours after ever dose...

If she's showing adverse reactions to the medication you need to stop. You are giving her 0.9ml, not 9ml, correct?
Yes, 0.9ml. I did stop giving it to her as she wouldn't eat. Sadly she passed away. Thank you so much for all your help.
