Sick SLW- 7 months old- nothing is helping

I did just think of something. When caring for people with liver disease, I noticed that they develop dark spots or hemorrhages into the skin which is due to the disease. Here is a picture of another chicken with dark spots on the legs: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/619129/white-leghorns-with-black-spots-on-legs-pic
Yes! I just looked at the picture and these are exactly the same spots, but that thread didn't have any answers. I will dig out my camera and see if I can take pictures of them. I am the only one home right now so it might be a little hard to... lol

I have a question is she a free range chicken or are your chickens living in a pin ??
Is anyone putting out poison or spraying a poison even a bug being poisoned is
enough if your chicken eats it ....This I am wondering because you only have one
sick chicken ........

No they are not pinned up... they are free range all day long in my backyard. They go to roost in their coop at night. No, I never put out any type of poison for anything, not even in the summer times. It has been quite cold here in Arkansas so I don't think any neighbors would be putting out poison for anything Either. I thought about that when she first started getting sick but it doesn't make sense because bug poison control is usually for the spring and summer in southern AR.

Alright how is the feed I am thinking but others would have it
even water would be the same thing have you checked the
bottom of the feet for wounds and all over the body for ticks..
The symptom's you are describing sound just like when I
had my liver failure due to heave metal poising ..
The other chickens how are they doing ???
Another thing is he a rooster and the others are hens ????

I feed layena Omega Name brand is Purena, some oatmeal in the mornings since it's been cold out, and oyster shells. Other than they they feed off the land. I have check all feet including my sick one. No signs of Brumblefoot or any kind of sores. I check for this every month. Heavy metal Poising??? How did that happen? I am so sorry :( It is always hard losing an animal!

All of my other girls are just fine. Acting just like they always do. Drinking and eating great. My sick on is a pullet, I do not have any roos. I think she was about to start laying right before she got sick. She squatted for me, but then she got sick. I just took pictures of her poo, skin, and the dark spots on her legs. Let me get them posted up real quick.

ok, above are the black spots if you can see them...

above is another picture of both legs with the black spots.

above, Velma's yellowish looking skin and wattle. You can also see that she is closing her eyes. She's not liking me holding her either.

above, sleepy girl, but standing.

above, this was Velma's last urate. You can tell the shavings around the poo are wet so that tells me it's still a little watery. But her poo is solid (greenish looking).

Does this help at all?

Yes I would like to see them photos .. This is quite mind boggling as rarely do chickens
get sick one at a time and if one is sick I have always seen another one in two to three
days giving away the problem ......
My next question is where did you get your pullets from ?????
Oh my heave metal poising came with getting married and left when she left .....

I posted the photos. Hopefully you will have time to look at them. I bought her from a reputable local breeder that I bought all of my pullets from. I have never had any trouble with him or the birds until recently. One of my Red sex link hens got sick (respiratory issue) due to the fluctuations in weather 2 weeks ago, but this was not the breeders fault... just the weather I believe. I treated her with Tylan 50 and she was better in 5 days. She is fully recovered and has been laying like a mad woman! lol

Good looking chicken other then being sick nice line of chicken .....
The poo is a little off and yes the wood shavings are wet I see but
I am more worried about the spots and the lack of energy ......
The reason I ask where you got them is some times the genetics
are a little off here I will explain as I bought 25 ducks several years
ago all looked healthy but by the 6th month them ducks started to
pass away for no reason and all were gone by month 10 and I hope
you do not have this problem it just happens as the other type of
ducks and chickens I bought from them are still here and strong ....
But this is something one needs to watch for and that is one good
looking lady you have there .......

Thanks! I think she's a good looking little girl too! I think her poo is off due to the medication, but I am not certain of this. I just started her on Probiotics too. So hopefully that will help. If she does end up passing away I will definitely send her off to the state lab and get testing done. I just spoke with my husband and he said there is nothing in our yard that she could have gotten a hold of that would poison her. Who knows? I will continue to treat with Corid for 2 more days and see if that helps any. Any other suggestions are welcome and would be helpful!
