*sigh* I'm loosing my touch. (Warning: Hi-jacked by Em)

I'm not a welder...I can stick it together, but no means a good welder.
Wouldn't want to x-ray my welds.

But a good living in welding.

What are you using?

But I do love how the doctor always has a British accent.

For a good weld I use a 5P+ rod. It's good for all positions, and don't be afraid to turn up the heat a bit you'll just have to work it faster. For filling use low-hydrogen filler and it takes a good deal of practice on your weave pattern and feed speed to get good with the low -hy, and not to much heat or you'll blow the puddle out.. It all takes lots and lots of practice.

I don't know from welding, but I know how deeply satisfying it is to do a job right. I know how creating can both feed you and consume you. I know how good it feels to get "in the zone" where you and the tools and the materials merge, and the energy that is created gets almost intoxicating. And I know that good kind of tired. Sounds like you had a good day!

I really need some welding done. I would really like to have a skilled welder do the job. I guess I could do it myself, but that just wouldn't be the same. Not that I haven't done it myself in the past, I have, but the end result was less satisfying than when done by one who knows what he's doing.

ETA small omited word - small but important - opps.....
