Silkie Bantam Rooster Sore Feathers on Feet

Do you have mosquitoes where you live? If not, it's not fowl pox, just pecking scabs. Besides, the dry fowl pox can be no more than black spots on the comb, and Blu-kote can take care of those.

He's a fancy pants gorgeous guy.

Hello again 🙂,
Yes we do have mosquitoes where we live and as it has been very wet of late, they are definately out in force. There are other chickens in our street, i can hear their rooster at times. I guess the mosquitoes could get it from them or elsewhere i guess. I will monitor the two who have the marks, they are the two that would scrap the most. And thanks for the heads up about blu-kote. And yes he is a majestic specimen of a rooster in my extremely limited experience of chickens 😊. The lady who sold us our pullets gave him to us for free to gaurd the others as we have cats around. She said he was special that he was a blue silkie bantam qnd probably more that unfortunately I cant remember. 🙄
