if she bought the eggs she wouldnt knowIs there any reason to suspect he is carrying the mottling gene? He just looks like a poor quality blue to me. If both parents were splash, he likely is genetically splash (carrying two copies of the Bl gene) but he is just expressing it oddly.![]()

lol...yes i would also but my splash girl has just hatched out some other eggs for me tonight...so will have to wait...still haven't seen the chicks under her but I can hear them...i would love see his babies

he is almost a year old now...when he hatched I thought he was an awesome paint chick...wait I do have some baby pics of him...he was always heavily marked....started out white with dark spots very much like a paint...I had one with a similar color at 6 months. By 10 months it was blue. I crossed him with a blue hen, got dozens of nice babies and none had his odd original coloring.

He IS a striking bird, but just WHERE does he fit in the standard ? Silkie people please remember that you are breeding for type first, and color second. Without BOTH, you will just have pretty yard ornaments.I think he's quite striking.![]()
