Hiya, I've just managed to hatch 6 silkie chicks from 12 shipped eggs (handled badly by the postman) so very pleased with the result. Just wondering if anyone could tell me what colour adults you think they'd turn out. Any excuse to show off some cute lil fluffy butt's 🐣.
Thanks In advance.

Oh and bit confused as one chick has all the silkie characteristics but lighter skin and beak (2) šŸ¤”

Thanks 😊, nice to have an idea what they'd look like and really hope the chicks skin does darken up. Glad i have a few different colour possibilities.

They don't darken in my experience (toe tips, etc).. if my statement is true for yours also.. then it's a breeding or showing verses pet quality issue not enough to question breed itself since other features are correct..

Congrats on your hatch, cute babies! :love

Hi again, thought I'd share how their feathers are looking now. Could number 4 be splash potentially?? Looks to be some darker feathering maybe mixed in. šŸ¤”

Soo confused šŸ¤” all the ones people have thought to be white have changed. One is looking grey, one is looking splash and this one I have no idea on. Picture attached. Any help appreciated šŸ™. It started off one of the lightest coloured.

Looks like a Buff.

I haven't seen many Buff Silkie chicks.
