~ 14 weeks old now - isn't he HANDSOME

His body feathers are turning much softer now - although his tail and wing feathers are still as clumpy and sad as ever.

Beautiful pictures, Germaine and alicefelldown! Thanks for the updates. I just had 6 new baby chicks in the last week, and more due soon. One of my little babies born is a darker color than the others:

Can't wait till you start mating them with Black Ameraucanas....... and then breed back the blue offspring to the parents.

Mahonri .... Yep, that is the plan! Yesterday I moved mine into a breeder pen with 2 Ameraucanas about the same age. Today I found a soft shelled egg in the pen.

So, I am hopeful it will be very soon!
