Silkie roos age of maturity

Hello,
I was wondering at what age to roosters (specifically silkies) reach maturity/fertile and at what age do they begin to cockadoodledo? I live in an area where I can have hens but not roosters. I've had hens for many years now and have hatched out dozens of chicks but I want to start breeding Silkies. Just wondering if maybe theres a month or so gap where a cockerel is fertile but doesn't crow. Other wise the boys with have to stay at a relatives farm I suppose!

Roosters start to cow from 4-20 weeks. People usually say about 10-20, but I've had rooster crow at about 3-4 weeks.

Silkies are extremely difficult to sex before 4-5 mos. of age and sometimes not till they crow or lay an egg.

I would imagine the rooster will be crowing before the hen is ready to lay. Are you sure you have a male and female? Any photos for us to look over?

Silkie cockerels are often very slow to mature and can take up too a year to crow.
