I went out to this today

poor Cappy Llama just wants to set on eggs and everyone else is about pushing her out. They used to lay eggs in the right box also, but now apparently that box is no good.

I also decided to sketch a little today, I think it's the first time in about 15 or more years. I need a side hustle to boost my silkie business (that I haven't created yet

) well, I've got a start on the silkies, just need the business part, the name, the slogan, the design, etc

I see that Base is back out in the run so likely Cappy has the box to herself again. I haven't noticed her getting out to eat.

Glad Cappy was able to get her broody box back! You may need to drag her out occasionally, if they aren't actually sitting on fertile eggs, it's not healthy to go without eating, drinking or dustbathing. A good broody still takes care of herself but some don't know any better.

I've pulled Cappy Llama out and put her in the run the last two evenings, it's a quick bite, a sip (just one) of water and back to the box. I think I'll try to break her this weekend, 1 week is long enough!

Silkies definitely have a disdainful look they can pull off

Wow, he's a beauty!

Stunning color, splash birds can be very striking!

Tell Cappy there's plenty of time to be broody,

hopefully she doesn't give you a hard time! Yes some Silkies do have a permanent scowl on their faces. :lol:

Definitely have scowls! So so entirely adorable

I evicted Cappy Llama again tonight and she wouldn't even take a bite, straight back to the nest. 2 more days and she's going to broody jail. She is quite determined to take good care of those eggs! She's so young too

Cracker is getting more color to him each week. At first he was mostly just a light grey color with a few little lines of color. I have him for sale, he's so adorable though

but I can't keep everyone.

I have a lady from work who wants to take Nu and Heavy, they'll have a great home, so I'm happy about that. 2 cockerels down, at least 2 more to go... she's been wanting silkies.

Here's the chocolates, they're growing but still smaller than the others. Especially Fray the Itty Bitty, or because of her spritely boldness, Fray the Fearless. She's so tiny still and gets these big bursts of the zoomies and speeds around jumping way up in the air, it's hilarious. Everyone is still doing great, it's getting into the 30s at night but they just hunker together and seem good. The heat lamp is on but typically only Fray hops into the box to be under that.
