Is this gonna turn into a cage match?

Poor thing... if we keep it up, she might reconsider letting us get some eggs..... the bad influences that we (well, I) are turning into....

I was just thinking about them the other day too. Once you are able to get silkied blues from them you could cross them and get silkied blacks then with the blacks you could work the silkied trait into other colors like self blue, wheaton, cuckoo and some others. You could come up with a name for them other than ameraucanas so you could have more varieties and not worry about standards right away. Hmm, maybe Dipsy will get some of these eggs and work them into her cuckoo blue egger flock, lol.

When she starts to lay again, you might consider entering some of her eggs into the "Crazy 24 hour egg auction" thread! You just might get a good surprise! I promise to do my best to help your selling price go high! Somehow I don't think their price will need "help" to go high though...

That's right! People will drive by your big ranch in Midland and wonder if you made your money in the oil industry. But the folks in town will tell them: 'No, no, chicken eggs!'

I thought it might be a freak of nature sort of thing, too. But two of the exact same silkie birds from only one dozen eggs???

Anyways - I'm so excited to see if all these babies have the silkie feathering. I will definitely be posting pictures as they feather out, so keep watching.

I really hope to get some more hens from this hatch, so I can have more eggs from the silkie x silkie match. As it is now with only one hen, I could barely collect six eggs at a time to mail and keep them fresh. But, of course, that will be several more months down the line.

Ugh! I'm so impatient!

Actually - I do make my money in the oil business. The chicken thing is just a hobby. But you never know!
