I've always been told with silkies...a crow or an egg layed is best way lol..with that said though I have been able to determine all the roos I've had out of 4 flocks based on their behavior and personality.
But really difficult to do that sight seen and purchased without being around em for few weeks.

Biscuit is full bearded, hard to tell he was a he untill his comb grew big enough to show through his puffy round crest! Most of mine are bearded.

Ok...so...my hatch is not going good at all. The only chick I have hatched was the one I posted this morning. There has been absolutely no movement from the other eggs except from the one that has the pip which I will rarely hear chirp. Should I candle? Hatch day started at 10 pm last night but there has been no movement from any of the eggs except from the pipped one. Please let me know if I should candle or wait a little longer.

Just seeing this now. How is it going now with your hatch? It can sometimes be more than a day between eggs.

Of course! they are SO tiny!! The one with the painters tape shoe is still iffy but seems to be very slowly growing stronger The other two look great

They are adorable!

Likely most chicks will have beards, possibly some without! Colorwise will be difficult to know. I assume Chickaletta is a recessive white? In that case she could be hiding anything underneath genetically. What color chicks has she had before? Good bet you will get lovely colors with Biscuit!

Haha I know! I can’t wait for the beards! I had to use every fiber of my willpower to leave baby salmon faverolles at the feed store today. They were SO fat and their cheeks were so floofy!!

Baby SFs are just the cutest, right up there with Silkies in the cuteness factor. Amazing willpower on your part!
