Silky hatch-along and OdoBan on eggs experiment

Pics
I've heard tales of people trying to cross Silies onto full size brahmas or cochins. That is an up and coming asap project.
I won't tag her but @ mysterychicken is trying to create a giant silkie, or was a few months ago when I was talking to her about it.

I sort of think there's a point where you don't call it a silkie anymore as the name denotes a smaller, fluffy, chicken, not a cyborg lol.

Yes. It should be called another breed altogether I think. A big breed with leg feathers and silkie type feathering. 1/4 silkie and the rest a combo of Cochin and Brahma genes for size.

I guess this can be arranged with an assistant. You do understand this will be a test tube baby operation? No way the little Silky rooster is going to get a 10lb hen to squat and hold still.
I think I told you about my neighbor farmer lady who took my little white silky roo to save him from being culled. She has a flock of Brahmas. I don't know what kind of Brahmas but they're huge. She used to laugh at how he tried to figure out ways to jump on them. Months later, she said they would crouch down for him, but they were so big so all he was doing was squirting his "junk" all over their backs. 🤣
