I have been contemplating getting some Leghorns lately. The White version has been on about a 50 year probation for me due to two main reasons. The first is that my Dad had a flock of a dozen or so hens; when they got older and slaughter time was at hand, my job was to crawl into a bramble thicket and retrieve them. And the second reason was the meanest rooster I ever had was a White Leghorn. He had been an adorable Easter chick but became demonic as he grew up. One of the happiest days of my life was when a predator got him.
