Good morning! So what's the advantage of a French press? I live around the corner from a Green Mountain plant. We use Kcups.

Kcups are convenient for sure if you are the only coffee drinker in a household.

Well I drink the most coffee. BF drinks part of one cup some mornings and daughter (22) drinks one occasionally. I love flavored coffees, good creamers and the occasional shot of Rumchata or Baileys. Does a French press give it a better flavor?

It is a, how to describe it, Stronger flavor? It is un filtered and will have some coffee solids in it.

I have seen kits that let you make your own k cups.

A French press is a fantastic way to make coffee because:

1. It makes a great tasting cup, a little stronger than a drip coffee maker, but not as strong as Turkish coffee.

2. All it needs to work are coffee grounds and super hot water so electricity isn't needed.

I have a vacuum coffee maker too.

I think it would be a bit scary to put that glass thing on a wood stove. It sure looks cool though.

I had to give up coffee a few years ago after drinking it for 32 years.

The withdrawals nearly killed me!
