Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

Never used to be this way, but time changes things for sure.

I too am only as old as I feel, and then I look in the mirror.  :lau

Never, never, never, look in the mirror

I might live in de nile, but that river just isn't deep enough if i actually look in a mirror.

Not sure how the wind blows on this globe, but I now have a great big snow blizzard outside my windows. Looks like it will be a big dump, maybe a foot (which isn't actually a large amount for some folks)

I have citrus here at the house, and the orchard at the nursery has pears, plums, pomegranates, persimmons and ,,,sigh, confused peaches. I think it is the "P" orchard.
oh, and a Mulberry. They freeze along with the pomegranates.

oh well. I was hoping we'd make it this year. The muscadine grapes always do well.

Ironically we can grow very little. Things that require a certain number of chill hours do not get them, and the ones that can not handle ANY chill hours- they get too many.

Blackberries are my go to fruit for jams.
They don't care what happens as long as they get rain in the spring.

Tampa is a big strawberry producer. I expect them to be expensive this year. Last year was a great year! very mild.. fantastic berries and affordable.

We have strawberries in the garden, figs, blueberries, muscadines and we usually grow watermelons and cantaloupe in the garden.

I don't know how many of you remember it but we had 18 inches of snow here in Middle Georgia one Friday afternoon in February 1973. We enjoyed the snow on Saturday and by Sunday afternoon mother nature had cleared the roads and we went to work as usual Monday morning.

Hagar, did your fruit trees bloom yet? Ours get so confused when it is so hot in December and start blooming just in time for the 12 degree weather.

We did have a lot of early blooms last year. So far it has been pretty cool this year. The peaches don't usually bloom early because they require a certain number of hours of cold for dormancy before they bloom. The short chilling varieties that grow farther South require fewer hours of cold. If it warms up early in February or March after this cold weather we will get some early blooms.

I actually do remember! I had an aunt and uncle and 2 cousins that lived there then! She said by Michigan standards (where we grew up) it was moderate, but by Georgia standard and equipment, it was no fun to be on a Georgia road!

By the way, I'm still only "29"!
