Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

I actually do remember! I had an aunt and uncle and 2 cousins that lived there then! She said by Michigan standards (where we grew up) it was moderate, but by Georgia standard and equipment, it was no fun to be on a Georgia road!   By the way, I'm still only "29"!:lau

I understand. We get stuck on some years.29 is a great age to be.

I really did not like '30' - of course that was a while ago.

Good brrrrrrrrr morning everyone :caf

I love hearing all you southerners talk about your gardens and orchards. It makes me remember what is sleeping under the snow outside my window and remind me spring will come. I can only hope the snow cover is deep enough to save my previous herbs, sigh.

ThAnk you all for putting up with my gloom. I generally don't have any problem dealing with winter, I live in the northwoods after all, it's just this ridiculous cold won't even let me play with my chickens :rant

I am so glad now I was so careful about not letting anything, especially mechanical, get frozen in place this year because if this keeps up it wouldn't move again until June!!!

Our high today is supposed to be -10 F with windchills in the -25 to -35 range but because we are supposed to be sunny, I may actually be able to let the girls out to play in the greenhouse for a little while later. I hope so because tonight and tomorrow will be far worse and Tuesday we have to do an all day road trip to my oncologist (I really hate those long drives) so the girls won't have a chance to get out again before Wednesday.

The up side of these trips tho is I get all the real cappuccino I can drink :D and stop at a real Tractor Supply to restock my critter medical supplies. :jumpy

-two cups down and chicken chores completed. -let the gals out then turned on the heat lamp (for me) in the coop whilst scooping feed this morning. -left the lamp on and came back indoors. -looked out an there was no sign of chickens. -wussy birds had gone back indoors........

-unplugged the lamp, and now everyone is out in the sunshine! Our temps are in the upper 20s this morning with a stout wind. -really not bad due to sun. Tonight and tomorrow night will be harsh - mid teens with heavy wind. (harsh for these birds as they aren't used to such) -have to cover the cyclamen. -pansies and kale should be fine.

-one more cup then off to church.

Well, the goats are all milked, fed, and watered, the bunnies were brought in where it's warm, the chickens are fed, watered, and bedded down, the turkeys and peacocks are all cozied up in the barn, and all the ducks and geese are cuddled up in their barn. Time to sit back, and enjoy the blizzard.

Stay warm everyone!

Love the look of snow covered trees and ground, but not looking forward to -18 and 20-35 mph winds coming next! the girls are settling in and fluffing up. Buffy is locked out of her favorite nest box and has rejoined the rest on the roost! I had to lock her out so she wouldn't freeze by herself. No more Ms. Broody! Everyone in the line of the storm and cold front take care stay warm and safe! And those that it has already descended upon I hope you and your animals are warm and safe as well!
