We have a lot of springs.. 72 degrees. That should feel warm to you all though.

50, I would be happy with 50.

But then, 50 is a normal temp in the months you'll call summer.

We actually count our summer by the number of days that hit 60. Last year we had over two weeks of summer.

You go up to somebody and ask

" so, how many days of summer have we had so far?"
"Oh, we had one day yesterday, and two days last week"
"Yep, yeah, I think that is what I remember too.... But I am up on the hill, so I only got one last week, so I am only up to two."
" Oh, I hear ya. Salmon is running good though, over by Point Pakipsky, been out yet?"
" not yet, but yeah, I hear it is good."


By the way, "up on the hill" means over 1,000 feet elevation.

Alaskans are strong to deal with so little warm. Me, I am a weather whimp! (You probably couldn't tell. )

I suppose being 'up on the hill' is better than being 'up a tree.'

50o, gray, and rainy here today. That may sound like summer to you, Alaskan, but it sounds like

to me. Still, I suppose it's an improvement on 35o, gray and rainy, which is what we had been dealing with. Good thing, too; it looks like we had a couple of inches of rain that fell last night. We're still picking up from the last ice storm, the last thing we'd need is more ice!
