The time really does go fast!

She is a Big Helper and her favorite morning activates are the Chicks and Grandpas coffee.

I KWYM. My youngest likes to watch Daddy "cut his beans" (which is what he called DH grinding his coffee beans). ;)
They do grow up fast; my oldest is already a teenager!!!!!!

Yes, we mustn't mess around with Sour's coffee anymore, or ALL our hens will go... BROODY!!
ep.gif

Nothing can make my Leghorns go broody.
If Sour can do that, then I'll stop messin' around with his coffee.

It was 82 here today \
Got a little warm in the house and the Chicks abandoned The brooder we had to turn on a fan and off the heat light.
We put the Chicks in a plastic bucket in my DH's comp. parts room, building, networking, cords, and wires,

I am sure before they go outside he will know why I said were not ready for more just yet. He may in fact be finding out why building a real brooder before chicks would have been a good choice.

However in TSC he couldn't resist when Kaylee started to mock the chicks screeching EEEEEEE

She knows all his weak points. it s funny how none of them worked for our children.

Yes, parents and grandparents seem to be two completely different species!!!

I will give it every effort but I am sure I will miss some box of cords that will have chickie poo in it.

They do not do well on linoleum flooring when they try to run its kinda cute but they all get back in the bucket tub to eat and rest.

Another 80 deg day tomorrow so I am going to work on getting 2 * 2's out of an old camper we are tearing down to frame and see what I can build to keep all safe and Happy.

Oh, hoping for spring for you!!!

Hey, I'm not the Muhammad Ali of egg production, but I'm betting those hens will start laying the first or second week in May.

The Deep South. =)

My DD said these look like our chickens. The brown one looks like our darkest gold Comet (Chocolate) and the other looks like one of our Leghorn hens (they all look the same, but their names are Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail, but I usually forget and call Cottontail "Cotton Ball".

Me teach someone something on BYC?????? I'm not worthy!!
I got some layer pellets from a particular feed store (anyone can PM me for the name, but I'm not trying to ruin any company's reputation), and I tried to ferment it; it just got soggy and went bad. Then, I got some "all natural" layer pellets and they fermented very nicely!!!
Does that explain?

Quoting FarmGirl:

They don't??

Who cares whether they do or not???? It's a waste of good coffee!!!!!!

Ok, I see what you mean. Thanks for your wisdom!!

So far my feed is doing alright. I'm not fully fermenting it though. I use it within 24 hours and just use the leftover juice for the next batch.

Waste of good coffee indeed!
