BB2K did something similar with a 1-lb container of Vaseline when she was a toddler. All over herself, a bedspread (hand made quilt, no less), a nightstand; I thought I would never get it out of the carpet (I have only so much time I can devote to shampooing carpets, after all - it took months).

Good Morning, Happy Mother's Day!!!

When my youngest son (Michael) was 2 (now 26), he wanted to paint. I could not get the lid off the new bottles of paint. So I explained that when daddy got home We would paint. I got him interrested in other things. I went to the bathroom and when I came back. He had the lid off the black paint bottle and there was black paint all over the kitchen and living room floor. We made hand print pictures for everyone for christmas!!!!

What a wonderful rainy day! I love the rain. I am getting a little worried, because I have not built my Arc and we have been getting a lot of rain. and well, I just don't remember ever having this much rain at one time. I'm also not sure I could replinsh the earths animals with just a four chickens and 3 dogs,

Good morning everyone!!!
Wow! Texas hit with flooding rain, tornadoes, hail deep enough to shovel AND a 4.0 earthquake south of Dallas all in one 24 hour period????

Makes me almost feel guilty for our beautiful weather, almost

. So sorry for the folks in tornado alley, but after the past couple very long, very cold, very deep winters that we have had, I think maybe we were deserving to have a beautiful warm spring to actually arrive in the spring. We are supposed to return to normal temps (low 60's and 50's for highs) next week but even that is a real blessing after being in the 30's at this time last year. We are still getting 30's at night and even an occasional frost so there is no planting anything yet unless it's onions and potatoes but that's ok, it's giving me time to play catch up after switching gears to moving mode, ignoring the gardens, and then back again. I'm actually getting a bit excited to talk with the logger this next week and get the ball rolling. I know it will drastically change the look of the property but maybe that will make it easier to go ahead with selling, or to stay???

(shhh, don't tell DH but I really never was big on the whole moving thing even tho I know it gets harder every year for us fogies to stay here).

Well now I have to get outside and get some work done before the next rain rolls in. We actually haven't gotten much, it keeps missing us. All we get is the noise but we need more of the wet stuff to lower the fire danger.

I understand what you mean about wanting to stay where you are. We both hate the house and the climate where we are, but the property is so great for where we are in life right now. Just enough open space, just enough woods (for DH to beat back every spring lol), and small enough we can manage what we've got but we can't get anything more.

Thanks! I had Easter chicks and now I have (basically) Mother's day chicks.

I need to get DH to get me an incubator so I can hatch holiday chicks. lol
Currently, I'm waiting around for my NHs from last Aug and Sept to get broody.

I am pretty open minded when it comes to food. If I could find lamb around here I would surely experiment with it.
We are going to the big city of Dothan AL tomorrow. They have Sams Club, Publix, and Winn Dixie. I may try to find some.

I'm not far from you and both my Sam's and Publix carry lamb. Publix will get in anything they can find with a bar code (which is pretty much anything). =)

Find some mint Jelly too... its good on Lamb and Pork as well as peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

Garlic and Rosemary are Lamb basics Salt and pepper too.

My g-mother made me and my brother peanut butter and mint jelly sandwiches on homemade bread once. I guess G-father went off on her about it, b/c when we asked for it after that, she said she couldn't. Oh, well. It was great the one time that we had it. =D

Speaking of rosemary, DD grows it, and DH found a recipe for Rosemary Shortbread Cookies. Yum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't think of a better Mother's Day dessert! =)

Bro I really hate that place. If my mother in law would move I could erase it off my map. I cant understand why anyone would want all that traffic. And living close to other people.....puke
And everything is over priced. And you cant keep any poultry outside....Dothan people scare me

Yeah, I hate living too close to other ppl. As long as everyone's got at least an acre, preferably two or more, I feel like ppl are close enough to call them neighbors, but not so close you want to call them nasty names.
