Wait - some ducks don't quack? We got three baby Rouen ducks from TS and they are adorable but they just peep, peep, peep. Do only boy ducks quack?

The females do the most quacking....

But Muscovy ducks do not quack they hiss and the females kind of chirp

they are not related to other ducks a case of parallel evolution... They come from South America... When you mate a muscovy with a regular duck you get a mule... Unable to reproduce

Love the Muscovy video. My girl sounds like that. She was broody and made louder squeeks which our Roo doesn't like.

Check out my new chickie chores boots!!! Birthday present (in a week) from my sweet DH!!! :love They replace the cheap ones I was wearing when I had my accident last fall and was afraid to wear again. Besides the really cool design these are of a really soft and flexible "rubber" (?) and so comfy on my bad ankle, but best of all they have super tready soles.
I LOVE your boots!!!! Can I ask where he snatched these up from?? I only have my ropers and they are great to work around here in, but rubber boots seem easier to wash off after being in with chickens!!! And I plan on being in with my chickens a lot! :) AND.... Happy late birthday! My toddler turns 2 today!!
